Keynote Speaker: Vaughan Oliver

12th March 2010 @ 2pm-3pm

Westwood

Visitors on the Friday afternoon can look forward to a Keynote Speech by eminent designer Vaughan Oliver, once described as an ‘inspirational graphic alchemist’ whose complex manipulated images continue to inspire the digital arts world. Without doubt, he is one of the most important graphic designers to come out of Britain in the last 20 years and his influence can be seen far and wide. His work combines word and image into a distinctive visual vocabulary which has accompanied and enhanced the careers of 4AD artists like The Pixies and The Cocteau Twins; more recently, his work has appeared on releases by Scott Walker and TV on the Radio, amongst many others. His designs form part of the Victoria & Albert Museum collection and have been exhibited in Paris, Tokyo, Los Angeles and Athens.
