Westwood is home to Further Education students who study Performing Arts, Art and Music, and it also houses our Higher Education facilities. Scarborough Renaissance Partnership
In the autumn of 2001, Yorkshire Forward (the Regional Development Agency) launched its Urban Renaissance programme in order to support the social and economic regeneration of the major towns and cities in the region, focussing on the need to improve the physical, natural and spatial environments within which these activities take place. From Yorkshire Forward’s international Renaissance Panel of consultants, John Thompson & Partners and West 8 were appointed to work with Scarborough Borough Council and the people of the town, to create and integrated Vision for its future and an Action Plan for its delivery.

Digital Scarborough Action Group
The Scarborough Digital Action Group are a town team within the Scarborough Renaissance Partnership. Open to anyone they discuss and try to put together initiatives that help the digital economy of Scarborough. It attracts many people from various industries as well as the digital sectors. The welcome fresh involvement and hold regular, open meetings.

Stephen Joseph Theatre
The Stephen Joseph Theatre is utilising digital technology in e-marketing campaigns. This includes interactive e-flyers, social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter, video blogs and online ticketing. Watch out for the new dynamic, interactive website coming soon.

Electric Angel
Electric Angel are a scarborough-based design studio specialising in the third sector working with arts organisations, in community settings and for local authorities. They design for print, select digital media projects and are currently involved in the creation of multiple public artworks collaborating with local artists and writers. They have worked with English Heritage, The Church of England’s Fresh Expressions initiative and helped Scarborough win the European Enterprise Awards in 2009. They also regularly open half of their studio as a gallery exhibiting work by local artists. Engaging people in the design process is one of Electric Angel’s passions and partner Adrian Riley hopes to be presenting theory of cognitive mapping at Digital Scarborough 2010’s Bar Camp event as part of their work on the CHART Scarborough project.
